Since ancient times, it’s been believed that God or an intelligent hand created the entire cosmos according to a specific geometric plan.
Sacred Geometry refers to all the geometric shapes, patterns, frequencies, proportions, ratios, and laws that have been observed to underlie the organic life forms, objects and phenomenon occurring everywhere in the known universe.
What Is Sacred Geometry?
Sacred geometry is essentially the study of the spiritual meaning of various shapes.
More specifically, sacred geometry attributes symbolic and sacred meanings to certain geometric shapes and certain geometric proportions.
It’s associated with the belief in a divine or intelligent creator.
During medieval times, God was seen as a sort of divine geometer (a person skilled in geometry) who created everything based on number and proportion.
Most of Leonardo da Vinci’s investigations regarding natural phenomena were carried out with a belief in the mathematical principles underlying all forms.
It can be applied to the forms, numbers, and patterns seen throughout the natural world. For example, the spiral of a snail’s shell, the pattern of a single snowflake, the branches of a tree, or the hexagonal structure of the honeycombs in a beehive. These can all be examples of sacred geometry.

Why Is Sacred Geometry So Important?
Sacred geometry is considered an ancient science that explores and explains the energy patterns that create and unify all things as we know them.
It reveals the precise way that the energy of creation organizes itself. In fact, every natural pattern of growth or movement comes back to one or more geometric shapes.
Who Believes In Sacred Geometry?
Sacred geometry is based in ancient Greek philosophy and was later studied by medieval Islamic scientists.
The Greeks believed Euclid invented geometry from Thales. Islamic scientists, such as Ibn al-Haytham (Alhazen) and Abū Rayhān al-Bīrūnī, were some of the first to study sacred geometry in more detail.
Why Do People Believe In Sacred Geometry?
Sacred geometry amplifies our connection to spirit, creates harmony within ourselves, and between ourselves and the outside world.
It’s often referred to as sacred architecture because it underlies everything and is woven into the fabric of all creation.
What Is A Powerful Sacred Geometry Symbol?
One of the most fascinating aspects of sacred geometry is the symbol known as Metatron’s Cube. Metatron was an archangel who was mentioned in Islamic, Judaic and Christian medieval mythologies.
Metatron oversaw all of creation and is considered an Archangel as well as a judge.
What’s So Interesting About Metatron’s Cube?
Metatron’s Cube is said to contain the five key sacred patterns or shapes that make up all matter in this known universe. Known as The Platonic Solids, these shapes are Star Tetrahedron, Hexahedron, Octahedron, Dodecahedron, and Icosahedron.
The Platonic Solids are called the perfect solids because, in each one of them, every face has equal side length, equal face size, and equal angle.
In addition, all these figures fit perfectly within a sphere.
The Platonic Solids are named after the ancient Greek philosopher Plato who was influenced by Pythagoras. The Pythagoreans were looking for the secret patterns and laws that govern the universe.

What Is The Practical Use of Sacred Geometry?
As mentioned, it’s associated with the belief of a divine creator of the universal geometer.
The geometry used in the design and construction of religious structures such as churches, temples, mosques, religious monuments, altars, and tabernacles has often been considered sacred.
What Is The Most Sacred Shape?
Spiritually, the circle represents the never-ending cycle of life, death, and rebirth, as well as oneness.
It’s said that the first thought of God is represented by a circle, which exists by itself and is then repeated. It forms the basis of many sacred geometry patterns.
What Is The Most Common Shape in the Universe?
The most common geometric shape found in nature is the hexagon.
Hexagons fall under the category of geometry called plane geometry and are found in beehives, crystals, plants, and snowflakes.
Why Are Hexagons So Special?
Mathematically, the hexagon has six sides. What makes this shape so interesting is that the hexagonal shape best fills a plane with equal size units and leaves no wasted space.
The Hexagonal Prism is nature at its efficient best. It contains the highest volume at the lowest surface area, in other words, the most storage space utilizing the least amount of precious resources. In a beehive, each cell is a regular hexagonal prism.
What Does The Hexagon Mean In Psychology?
As mentioned, the hexagon is a naturally occurring shape and is most commonly found in honeycomb.
By default, we associate the shape with bees and their teamwork and cooperative nature.
Community, creation and balance are a few of the feelings evoked by this geometric wonder.
Who is the Father of Sacred Geometry?
Euclid is often called the Father of Sacred Geometry. He was an ancient Greek mathematician active as a geometer and logician.
His system, now referred to as Euclidean geometry, involved new innovations in combination with a synthesis of theories from earlier Greek mathematicians.
With Archimedes and Apollonius of Perga, Euclid is generally considered among the greatest mathematicians of antiquity, and one of the most influential in the history of mathematics.
What Shape is The Great Pyramid?
Although The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, appears to be a square pyramid, it is in fact an octagonal pyramid.
One fact most people don’t know is that the largest pyramid in the world is not the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, but the Great Pyramid of Cholula in Mexico.
The Great Pyramid of Cholula, is a complex located in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico. It is the largest archaeological site of a pyramid (temple) in the New World, as well as the largest pyramid by volume known to exist in the world today.
Final Thoughts
Our world is a lot more mysterious and wonderful than we may have been conditioned to believe coming up through our various education systems.
It’s my personal belief that our ancestors possessed advanced knowledge that has been lost or purposely hidden along the way.
This has been meant as an introductory post, I hope to go deeper on some of these topics in the future.
