The Health Benefits of Grounding

At one time, our ancestors used to be connected to the Earth on a daily basis. In modern times, we’ve disconnected ourselves from this important source of electrons.

Grounding is a relatively new concept that’s hit the mainstream lately.

It even has many professionals regarding it as potentially one of the most important discoveries of our time.

The Health Benefits of Grounding

What is Grounding and How Do You Do It?

Grounding, also known as Earthing, is simply the act of making a physical connection between the electrical frequencies of the human body with that of the Earth’s.

It’s being used as a therapeutic technique, and involves doing activities that “ground” or electrically reconnect us to the Earth.

Think of walking barefoot in the grass, or feeling the sand between your toes on the beach. Just like the Sun constantly provides us with energy and vitamins, the earth itself is also a source of subtle energy in the form of electrons. When we touch the ground with our bare feet or body, those electrons flow into us.

People usually perform grounding outdoors by laying on the ground or submerging themselves in water. You can also use grounding mats, sheets, and other equipment.

It can be achieved in several ways such as standing, sitting, lying or walking with direct skin contact with the Earth. This can include grass, sand, soil, bodies of water, or even contact with most trees and living plants.

How Can Grounding Help The Body?

Scientists have discovered that bodily contact with the Earth’s natural electric charge can stabilize our physiology at the deepest levels. The theory is that it can reduce inflammation, pain, and stress. It can improve blood flow, energy, and sleep, and generates greater well-being.

Does Walking Barefoot Ground You?

Just being barefoot outdoors on dirt or grass can help your body absorb the Earth’s electrons and in theory offer health benefits.

People that practice Grounding say they’ve found both physical and mental health benefits.

Does Grounding Remove Toxins?

As mentioned, experts on Earthing and Grounding believe that this practice can help improve circulation, which means we’re better able to distribute nutrients throughout our body and that helps carry waste and toxins out.

Final Thoughts

Personally I remember a childhood filled with outdoor barefoot adventures, but sadly I only ever get to do that at the beach these days.

Ask yourself, when was the last time you actually made physical contact with the Earth?

Find a patch of grass, kick off your shoes and spend some time discovering for yourself if it can help contribute to an improvement in your overall health and well-being.
